A Special Place for Jeremy

I had to go back to work after Jeremy was born. Since he was not doing well with a sitter, I talked about my problem with some other working moms. They suggested I enroll Jeremy in the Child Development Center's pre-school program.

I took their advice, and now Jeremy couldn't be happier. Before, he was anxious when I left him. Now, he's a confident little boy who can't wait to go to school.

Is all day care the same? Not for me. The staff at Child Development is like a family who cares for each child, like we would at home. There's time for hugs and stories and hand-holding. They recognize that these are little kids who sometimes need to just sit or cuddle.

The teachers have helped show Jeremy how to treat others with respect, a value that's important in our own family. They're also preparing him for school. Most of all, I see them taking time just for him. In their eyes, every one of those kids is special.

If this is your first child in day care, or if you're a little anxious about letting go, you should pay the Center a visit. It took some work, but we finally found a place that puts Jeremy first... the closest thing to "Mom" yet!
